Rail
With the emphasis on total life cycle costs, aluminium honeycomb panels and lightweight composite structures are replacing more traditional materials in all areas of new build and train refurbishment. As well as providing a modern replacement these new materials allow train designers the opportunity to enhance train interiors, resulting in greater passenger comfort and higher safety levels.

Floors
Lightweight aluminium honeycomb floors are firmly established as the first choice for both new build and train refurbishment programmes. With the emphasis now on ‘total service life costs’, aluminium honeycomb floor systems not only offer huge weight savings over conventional materials, they are simple to install, meet the latest passenger safety regulations including fire, smoke and toxicity and provide excellent long term durability.
To improve passenger comfort by reducing interior noise levels, Technical Resin Bonders has spearheaded the development of an Acoustic Floor System. The floor consists of specially designed and patented resilient mounts, special floor rails and lightweight honeycomb panels that incorporate additional sound deadening materials.

Doors
The manufacture of both interior and exterior train doors using honeycomb sandwich panel technology and bonding techniques is long established. A range of materials can be used, chosen to meet environmental and operating conditions. Doors produced by this method can be cost effectively refurbished.
Partitions & Draught Screens
Lightweight and high strength arrangements are designed to withstand heavy passenger traffic without sacrificing the aesthetical aspirations of the interior designer.
Ceilings
Products for this application need to be lightweight yet strong enough to hold various equipment such as communication systems, electrical wiring, lights and air conditioning. Cellite honeycomb sandwich panels can be manufactured with easy to clean decorative faces, machined to exact size using CNC machines and fitted with points for attaching the equipment.
Catering & Galley Modules
Various joining and finishing techniques enable the use of decorative Cellite honeycomb sandwich panels in the manufacture of modules for retail areas within passenger rail vehicles. Panels can be constructed with internally bonded hard points for the attachment of heavy loads. Once machined by our own in-house CNC Machine Centre, individual component pieces can be fitted with potted inserts for the attachment of brackets and equipment. Edges can be finished with extrusion and the full assembly made ready for installation by the inclusion of electrics and plumbing.
